Thankful for another Successful STM in Pakistan!

Over the past few years, I've been growing in my awareness and involvement in missions through short-term mission trips, conversations with mission workers, developing relationships with some missionaries, prayer, classes, and personal studies.
But only in the past few months did I really get into the work of mobilizing. It's tiring: physically and mentally, but above all, emotionally!

One of the things that I find so helpful is learning about the ongoing work of missionary partners. One of them, Ptr. James (not his real name) and his team have just returned from a successful trip to a little-reached, very restrictive province in Pakistan.

They had a tense encounter with extremist Muslims, which involved death threats and their phones being thrown into a river, but the Lord protected them from what could have been much worse!

Here's why this mission trip was especially encouraging for me:
  1. THE GOSPEL. I know that this missionary partner loves and preaches as primary Christ's substitutionary atonement for the salvation of sinners who believe in Him.
  2. LEAST-REACHED. There were many nations represented in this region, and many least-reached people groups. The team reached out to tribes that may never have heard the gospel even after 2,000 years of missions.
  3. FOLLOW-UP. The team had first visited this area a few years ago, and at that time, people came to faith. Since then, some members of the team have returned a number of times for follow-up.
Elynne and I are struggling with the business of life, and things are going to get even more hectic in 2019 when I plan to start my studies at The Master's Seminary. But we believe that missions is God's strategic plan for His greatest glory, and we intend to always be actively involved in it by prayer, giving, mobilizing, and other more direct ways.
